Twenty unhurried minutes
in the open parlor
We hold back a third of every day for same-week appointments, publish what each session costs before you book, and write up what we agreed so you leave with it in hand.
Which session you need
Each day runs in two halves: a released same-day block and a booked block for longer reviews. The ledger below is what the parlor actually runs — not an availability promise.
Weekly sessions
- Monday08:00 – 18:00
- Tuesday08:00 – 18:00
- Wednesday08:00 – 20:30
- Thursday08:00 – 18:00
- Friday08:00 – 15:00
- Saturday09:00 – 13:00
- SundayClosed
Saturday mornings are kept for childhood immunisations and dressing changes only.
How the day is divided
-
Same-day block08:00 – 11:00
Released at 07:30 each weekday for new or worsening problems. One problem per slot so the clinic stays on time.
-
Booked block13:30 – 17:30
Planned reviews, results discussions, skin checks and anything that needs a longer sit-down.
-
Wednesday evening18:00 – 20:30
For people who cannot take time out of a working day. Released the Monday before.
-
Telephone callback12:00 – 13:00
Short follow-ups, prescription questions and results that do not need a room.
What we see, and how long it takes
Eight lanes cover almost everything that walks through the parlor door. Pick the closest one when you request a session — we will move you if another fits better.
-
Same-day general consult
20 minNew symptoms, infections, pain, rashes and anything that started in the last few weeks. One problem per appointment.
-
Long-term condition review
30 minBlood pressure, asthma, diabetes and thyroid reviews, with medicines checked against how you are actually taking them.
-
Child & infant care
20 minFeeding, fevers, wheeze, skin and development questions from birth to sixteen. Immunisations run on Saturday mornings.
-
Women’s health
30 minContraception, cycle and perimenopause consultations, coil and implant fittings, and cervical screening appointments.
-
Skin & mole checks
25 minDermatoscope assessment of changing moles and lesions, with photographs kept for comparison at your next visit.
-
Minor procedures
40 minCyst and lipoma removal, ingrown toenails, joint injections and wound care, done in the treatment room with a chaperone.
-
First mental-health appointment
40 minAn unhurried first conversation about mood, sleep, anxiety or burnout, and a plan you agree to rather than receive.
-
Travel & work health
25 minTravel vaccination planning, fitness-to-work discussions and medicals that need an examination and written notes.
“If the clock is going to beat the conversation, the appointment was the wrong length. So we book the length the problem needs.”
That is why lane lengths differ and why same-day slots hold one problem each. It is also why we would rather move your request to a longer session than hurry you through a short one.
Costs before you book
Indicative fees for private sessions, shown so you can decide before you sit down. You will be told the figure again at reception, and nothing is added afterwards without you agreeing to it first.

Four steps, start to follow-up
Nothing here needs a login or an app. If a step is going to take longer than it should, we tell you at the point it happens.
-
Step one
Send the request
Tell us the lane, a preferred session and what has been happening. Two or three sentences is plenty.
-
Step two
We confirm a time
You get an emailed time, the clinician’s name and the fee for that session, usually the same working day.
-
Step three
The appointment
Arrive a few minutes early, bring your medicines list, and expect the full booked length of the session.
-
Step four
Notes and next steps
A written summary follows by email: what we found, what we agreed, and when to come back or call.
Built for quiet appointments
Two ground-floor rooms
Both step-free with a wide door, an adjustable couch and room for a wheelchair or a pram beside the desk.
Chaperones as standard
A chaperone is offered for every examination without you having to ask, and you can decline or request one at any point.
A quiet waiting bay
Low light, no screens and no music, kept for anyone who finds a busy waiting room difficult.
Is this the right door today?
A short, honest list. Booking the wrong appointment costs you a day, so we would rather you read this first.
Bring this to us
- A new symptom you want examined and explained rather than searched for online.
- A long-term condition that needs its yearly review, or medicines that no longer feel right.
- A mole or patch of skin that has changed shape, colour or size.
- Results or a hospital letter you would like translated into plain language.
- A first conversation about mood, sleep or anxiety, with no obligation to decide anything that day.
Go elsewhere first
- Chest pain, sudden weakness, difficulty breathing or heavy bleeding — this needs emergency care, not a clinic request.
- A suspected broken bone or a wound that needs stitching within the hour.
- Dental pain or a lost filling, which a dentist can treat properly and we cannot.
- Ongoing specialist treatment already being managed by a hospital team.
- Repeat medicines with no review due — ask for a telephone callback instead of a room.
Asked at the desk most weeks
Do I have to register before my first appointment?
No. Your first session doubles as registration: we take your details, a short history and your current medicines at the start of the appointment, which is why first visits are booked slightly longer than the lane length suggests.
Will my records follow me here?
Only with your written consent. At your first appointment you can ask us to request a summary from your previous practice, and we will tell you when it arrives. Nothing is requested or shared without you signing for it.
Can you issue and change prescriptions?
Yes. Prescriptions written on the day are included in the session fee. Changes to long-term medicines are made in a review rather than a same-day slot, so there is time to check doses, interactions and how you are actually taking them.
Can I bring more than one child to the same appointment?
Each child needs their own slot, because each one needs their own examination and notes. Request them together in the notes field and we will book consecutive times so you only make one trip.
What happens if I need to cancel or I am running late?
Reply to your confirmation email and the slot goes back into the day for someone else. If you arrive more than ten minutes into a session we will usually need to rebook, since shortening your appointment delays everyone booked after it.
Can an interpreter or a family member join me?
Both are welcome. Note the language in your request and we will arrange a professional interpreter for the session at no extra cost; for sensitive conversations we may also offer part of the appointment on your own.
Tell us what you need
One short form. A member of the parlor team replies with a time, a clinician and the fee — usually the same working day, and by the next morning at the latest.
- This is a request, not a confirmed booking — nothing is held until we reply.
- Please keep clinical detail brief here; the rest belongs in the room.
- If a lane is full, we offer the nearest session that genuinely fits.
